Membership Benefits

Please note that we have waived first-year membership fees for former NAHI members.

A NSHI membership will help you promote your services and grow as a professional in the home inspection industry. For a low annual membership fee of just $199 (only $149 for renewals), NSHI is about one-third the cost of some other professional associations, while providing the credentials and essential member services you need.

NSHI Find Inspector Referral Service
The home inspection business is driven by referrals, so NSHI offers a free Find Inspector service for members. When a potential client requests an inspector for a certain location, NSHI matches the geographic location with its member database, allowing the client to find a NSHI inspector in his or her area. A special page allows the client to either email the NSHI inspector, call, or visit the inspector's website, depending on the member's contact preferences.

NSHI Member Website
NSHI members receive an easy-to-use website control panel where members can create their free website hosted on NSHI's server. Quickly and easily list your business online, highlighting your professional membership. Use your custom webpage to promote your business and serve as a resource for existing customers. Other companies charge hundreds of dollars per year for similar services, but NSHI members receive this service free of charge.

Continuing Education Hours
NSHI provides access to a free 6-hour continuing education course each year for members. These online courses, offered through an arrangement with a training provider, assist you with professional development, meet the NSHI membership requirements, and add to your credentials. In some states, this continuing education course even meets the requirements to renew your home inspector license.

IRC/UBC Code Quizzes
Code quizzes are included in the NSHI Spotlight! newsletter and may also be accessed through the Members Only section of the NSHI website. Code quizzes are a valuable study tool for inspectors who have not yet taken the National Home Inspector Examination. They are also a terrific educational resource for inspectors interested in enhancing their code knowledge. Quizzes are archived along with previous editions of the newsletter at the Members Only section of the NSHI website.

NSHI Member Business Cards
Generate free, personalized NSHI member business cards to present to clients, Realtors and other business prospects using easy, step-by-step instructions. These professionally designed cards use the popular Avery business card template 8371. Business cards can be personalized and printed from home at no additional cost.

Advertising and Marketing
NSHI members have full access to the NSHI member logo for use on business cards and advertising material. A print-quality logo is also available for use by professional printers. If clients or Realtors have questions, direct them to the NSHI web site or have them contact NSHI to verify member-in-good-standing status or to acquire information about NSHI Membership Standards. In addition, members are authorized to reproduce copies of the NSHI Standards of Practice and the NSHI Code of Ethics to distribute to clients or include with home inspection reports..

NSHI Member Certificate
NSHI MemberOnce the NSHI membership requirements have been fulfilled, you can download and print your official NSHI Membership Certificate. This high quality, professional certificate is suitable for framing and states the member's name, membership number and confirms that the bearer is a member in good standing. Displayed at your place of business, a NSHI Membership Certificate is an assurance to clients that you are a professional home inspector who takes your career seriously.
